Last Day to Drop with a W

The last day to drop a class or resign from the University with a grade of "W" for the Fall 2020 Full term or B-term for undergraduate and graduate students has been moved from Thursday, Oct. 29, to Friday, Nov. 20.

Have you dropped a class since Monday, Oct. 26?

All students who have dropped a class since Monday, Oct. 26, may request to have the dropped class added back to their schedules. Interested students should complete the Request to Rescind a Withdrawal form online. They will need to provide the CRN, Course Subject, and Course Number of the class(es) (ex: 25209, HIST, 100). This information is listed on the student's class schedule in ULink. On the Registration tab, in the Go to Class section, click View Class Schedule.

Requests will be accepted through Monday, Nov. 2. Students interested in this option should discuss their intentions with their professors and continue to attend the class. Participating students may still choose to drop the class through Friday, Nov. 20.

Grade Options

Grade options of Pass (P), Emergency D (ED), and Emergency F (EF) can be requested by undergraduate students from all colleges, except Nursing and Allied Health Professions. Graduate students are not eligible for these grade options.

After grades have been posted by the Office of the University Registrar, students will be able to complete a form to request to have their grades changed as follows:

  • C or better with a grade of P (Pass);
  • D with a letter grade of ED (Emergency D); or
  • F with a letter grade of EF (Emergency F).
  • Grades of P, ED, and EF will not be factored into a student's GPA. A grade of P will provide academic credit and will count toward curricular, major, minor, academic progress, and graduation requirements. A grade of ED will also count toward such requirements provided a minimum grade of C is not required in the student’s curriculum.

The grading process is as follows:

  1. Faculty will grade students as usual during the semester and will submit the final letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) earned by the student to the Registrar's Office using the standard grade submission process.
  2. The option to convert a grade can be requested by the student after final grades are posted.
  3. Students must complete an online form to submit a request to convert a grade to P/ED/EF. More information on this process will be emailed soon.
  4. The request must be initiated after grades are posted to student records and can be submitted through Friday, Dec. 18.
