Service Learning
In 2013, with the support of the President and Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, the University established a faculty awards program for exceptional service learning. Each year across campus, faculty guide their students through thousands of hours of course-specific civic engagement and service learning. In 20011-2012, 71 faculty members reported teaching 136 service-learning courses resulting in over 160,000 hours of course-related service to our community. This work is a vital educational experience for the students and contributes to the development of the University and community.
