Articulation

An Articulation Agreement is a formal written commitment between two or more regionally accredited institutions which outline the transfer of course credit from one institution to another. The agreement constitutes a broad framework for more specific transfer planning that defines the articulation of baccalaureate degree program requirements at a specific program course level. Such agreements are signed between a regionally accredited associate degree granting institution and a baccalaureate degree granting institution to formalize the transfer process for prospective transfer students who intend to earn a baccalaureate degree.

Articulation Agreements between the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and its partner institutions exist to minimize loss of credit and support seamless transfer. The agreements formalize transfer options for students to pursue and complete a baccalaureate degree. Typically, agreements are formalized to support the completion of an associate degree with a clearly defined pathway to completion of a baccalaureate degree.
